SLEPC is based in the Cullman County region of Smith Lake (the east side). The organizations below are also on Smith Lake and provide valuable resources and conservation efforts in their respective regions. Each organization has a group of water monitors and holds annual lake cleanups. Please reach out to one or all of the Smith Lake organizations to join or participate in our conservation efforts.
Smith Lake Civic Association (SLCA)
Focuses on Walker County
Mission: The goal of SLCA is to monitor and address environmental concerns of the waters of Smith Lake, and its environs in the area of cleanliness, pollution, safety, fish habitat, and other concerns to citizens who live on the shores of the lake, or who use it for fishing, boating, swimming and recreation.

Winston County Smith Lake Advocacy, Inc. (WCSLAi)
Focuses on Winston County
Mission: To preserve and protect the environmental quality of Lewis Smith Lake and its tributaries through education of the public and the promotion and implementation of sound environmental practices.
