    The Smith Lake Environmental Preservation Committee (SLEPC) was formed in 1995 as an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the goal of preserving and enhancing the water quality of Smith Lake and its tributaries for people, recreation, fish and wildlife through education and volunteer efforts and by working with officials and agencies and other organizations with similar goals.
